- Rinse After Every Use
After emptying the hip flask, rinse it with warm water (no soap) to prevent lingering odors or residue. For stronger cleanup, use a mixture of warm water and a few drops of white vinegar.
- Let It Dry Completely
Always air-dry your metal hip flask upside down with the cap off. This helps prevent moisture buildup and eliminates the chance of mold or rust.
- Avoid Dishwashers
Most stainless steel hip flasks aren’t dishwasher safe. High temperatures and detergents can damage finishes or loosen seals.
- Store It Empty and Open
When not in use, store your metal hip flask empty with the cap unscrewed. This prevents musty smells and extends the life of any seals or gaskets.
- Don’t Store Liquor Long-Term
A hip flask is meant for convenience, not long-term storage. Prolonged exposure to metal can slightly alter flavor—especially in high-proof alcohols or those with sugar content.
